    no, quando c'è un convoglio compare sotto forma di lcu e lo vedresti sotto. l'unica mia ipotesi è che sono le unità in spostamento da eastern usa che vengono già conteggiate a cape town.

    DAY-108 DELLE OPERAZIONI


    1) Sub / CenPac

    Nulla di nuovo.


    2) SoPac

    Blizzard lancia i Judy su un mio convoglio intento a scaricare supplies a Namatanai e mi affonda 4-5 xAK. Errore mio: pensavo che avrebbero finito di scaricare prima e invece son rimaste un turno di più.

    Io affondo un piccolo convoglio di 2 xAK e 1 xAKL in arrivo a Kavieng.

    Bombardamenti navali feroci su Shortlands e altro deliberate. Le difese giapponesi si stanno sgretolando ma le mie truppe sono estremamente affaticate.


    3) DEI

    I miei deliberate vanno a buon fine grossomodo dovunque. Catturo varie basi, inclusa l'ottima Aru Island col suo AF lvl5. Attacchi aerei di Blizzard sul porto di Saumlaki mi affondano un CLAA, il San Juan, mentre dei fottuti Helen colpiscono con diverse bombe da 250Kg la CVE Kalinin Bay, già colpita da due siluri il turno precedente. Con 97 fire e 85 floating è condannata, ma provo ugualmente a portarla indietro, cosa quasi del tutto impossibile.

    Io lancio i miei bomber su Ambon e affondo una AMC e un sub in porto.

    Vari barges sono affondati ma riescono a portare supplies. Le mie PT da Saumlaki arrivano invece in zona Dili e ingaggiano varie volte le TF nemiche in loco: perdo diverse PT ma affondo una AKE giapponese.

    Sweep fallimentari come sempre. Blizzard lancia uno sweep su Saumlaki coi Tojo e fa un simpatico 1-11 contro i miei Hellcat. Molto male.


    In fase di preparazione l'offensiva su Lautem. Le varie TF sono radunate a Darwin e stanno caricando truppe. Domani un piccolo gruppo di YMS arriva a Lautem stessa, sacrificandosi per sminare un poco il luogo. Dopodomani è il turno di DMS vari in bombardamento navale.

    Il mio obbiettivo è di sbarcare a Lautem fra tre giorni, ma ci sta che si vada addirittura a cinque.

    CV, CVL e CVE radunate a Darwin, dove ho 20 fra CV/CVL e 20 CVE. Le CV/CVL sono disbandate in porto e le CVE invece forniscono CAP addizionale alla base. Lautem è a soli 9 hex da Darwin, quindi dovrei avere una navigazione relativamente sicura verso il luogo, nonostante le dozzine di sub giapponesi che infestano le acque della zona.

    Mancano navi adeguate per bombardare Dili, ma la BB Richelieu arriva domani e dopodomani dorebbero arrivare DD addizionali e un paio di BB Iowa-Class.

    Un grosso convoglio di xAK e AK è in arrivo da Normanton in tre giorni, contiene truppe ulteriori per lo sbarco a Lautem.


    Se riesco a prendere Lautem, Blizzard perde le DEI molto velocemente. Dubito però di poterla catturare facilmente. Credo comunque che sia una buona mossa, visto che, mentre combatto a Lautem, dovrei essere in grado di consolidare le mie posizioni nelle basi appena conquistate. Sopratutto Babar sarà un'ottima base intermedia nel triangolo Saumlaki-Timor-Darwin.



    4) Altro

    Situazione benzina in miglioramento causa arrivo convogli.
    Situazione supplies potrebbe essere risolta portando un paio di milionate dall'Oceano Indiano. Serviranno a poco, ma è una soluzione tampone.
    Moltissimi i sub (e non solo) in riparazione. Cantieri navali stracolmi.
    4 CVE (e una che arriva domani) in attesa a San Francisco. Partiranno verso il SoPac fra un 3-4 giorni.
    Sto finendo gli aerei moderni.
    Fatta una grandissima mietitura di piloti in training, ma sono ancora a corto di molte tipologie di piloti, tipo quelli di TB. Inoltre, i piloti sono promossi con relativamente poco addestramento e la cosa si fa sentire.


    A Luglio 1944 iniziano ad arrivare vagonate di B-29. La cosa è più che benvenuta visto che finora ho potuto usarli relativamente poco causa mancanza rimpiazzi (ne arrivano solo 18 al mese).
    Presto li userò per uno scherzone a Blizzard: li ribaso a Saumlaki e da lì faccio un mega-strike su Miri, che credo non sia difesa a causa della grande distanza da quelle che sono state finora le basi dei miei B-29. Sfondare i pozzi di Miri è cosa buona e giusta dato che sono in una location eccelsa (molto protetta).


    In fase di raduno le truppe che sbarcheranno ad Ambon e sopratutto quelle che sbarcheranno a Giava, dove prevedo perdite sconcertanti in termini di navi, aerei e truppe.

    le cve non hanno il malus dell'hex base, corretto? invece il malus cv e cvl è per qualsiasi base, o solo quelle amiche?

    DAY-109 DELLE OPERAZIONI

    1) Sub / CenPac

    Pronta in due giorni la CV Intrepid a PH, danneggiata eoni fa a EST di Kavieng da due siluri.

    Un paio di BB danneggiate tempo fa in zona Umboi Island arriveranno a breve per riparazioni maggiori nel capiente repair shipyard locale.

    Affondo un mercantile a cannonate nelle Marshall grazie ad un coraggioso sub.


    2) SoPac

    Bombardamenti navali su Shortlands ed ennesimo deliberate.


    3) DEI

    Catturo i dot che rimanevano in mani nemiche e tiro un'altra spallata a Tabefarne. LCU giapponesi wiped out dovunque.

    Blizzard lancia i bomber sull'AF di Aru Island, che aveva pochi danni. Lo chiude, ma cambia poco dato che non ho né ENG né air support in loco.

    Ben due DMS e un DD vengono affondati dai perfidi Peggy(T) e Judy giapponesi. I miei sweep su Dili e dintorni sono decisamente fiacchi.

    Uno sweep di George su Saumlaki incontra i miei P40K in CAP. Finisce 16-1 a favore dei giapponesi. Molto male.


    La situazione è esplosiva:

    A Darwin ho tutte le flattops alleate disponibili. Domani, a dio piacendo, finisco di imbarcare le truppe per Lautem ed arriva una BB scortata da una dozzina di DD. Spero di riuscire a partire verso Lautem proprio domani e di sbarcare dopodomani.

    Ho intanto ordinato alle CVE di portarsi a S-W di Selaroe, sperando di intercettare i bomber giapponesi in naval attack. Ci sta che domani mi attacchi le CVE, perda aerei e decida di non metterli in NavB/NavT il giorno seguente, quando avrò le TF da sbarco in zona.

    Ordinato anche un bombardamento navale coi DMS su Lautem: l'obbiettivo è sminare un poco la base. Varie YMS si sono oggi immolate e hanno ripulito una dozzina di mine. Praticamente ho perso una nave per ogni mina eliminata: CD e aerei vari hanno fatto il tiro al piattello.

    Con due BB e un fracco di DD spero di riuscire a brasare l'AF di Dili ed il naviglio giapponese in loco. L'idea è questa:
    I) domani mi porto a S-W di Selaroe con le CVE ed assorbo strike giapponesi
    II) dopodomani mi porto a W di Selaroe con le TF da sbarco coperte dalle CVE e porto CV/CVL+BB/DD al centro del Mar di Banda, dove c'è la scritta "Banda Sea".
    III) al terzo giorno sbarco a Lautem, bombardo dal mare Dili e lancio gli strike dalle CV/CVL/CVE sul naviglio giapponese in zona.
    IV) al quarto giorno mi ritiro di gran carriera

    La fase delicata sarà al terzo giorno quando, volendo, Blizzard potrà intervenire con le CV, che presumo essere a Babeldaob o Davao.

    Sicuramente lui è invogliato ad agire perché ha a disposizione il setting perfetto: sa che io ho perso dozzilioni di a/c e piloti nei giorni scorsi e che non posso aver del tutto rimpiazzato le perdite; ha millemila AF di ottimo livello in giro; ha sub dappertutto; ha la KB riposata; ha ben presente ciò che voglio fare e come.
    Quindi ha senso da parte sua intervenire in massa e sperare per il meglio. Con le CV/CVL non credo di riuscire a tener botta in caso intervenga seriamente: ho solo un 1.200 a/c sulle CV/CVL e circa 600 sulle CVE. Altre CVE sono in arrivo fra un paio di giorni, ma cambia davvero poco.
    La chiave di tutto sta nello sbarcare al volo al terzo giorno e sperare che Blizzard non intervenga: se interviene sono cazzi da cagare.


    4) Altro

    Tutto tace.

    Arrivata la CV Victorious, mi pare sia quella, ad Aden. Nave mediocre con tipo 30 a/c di capacity, ma ottima blindatura e velocità di punta di ben 30knts. Coprirà gli sbarchi in India credo.

    Persi tre CVE anni fa davanti a Perth e lui ne ha persa una quarta di recente. Credo ne abbia intorno ai 1.750 considerate le conversioni varie. Di questi, un 150 sono FF (comunque ottimi in cap basse).


    La qualità dei suoi piloti è molto molto superiore alla mia. La qualità dei suoi aerei idem.
    Le sue navi sono infinitamente peggiori. La sua AA molto inferiore.
    I rimpiazzi di piloti grossomodo uguali.


    Uno scontro fra CV, comunque, lo perdo malamente ora come ora.

    Colpisco un paio di mercantili e una mia CVE si inabissa causa sub nemici. E' tipo la quarta in un mese e mezzo.


    2) SoPac

    Nulla di nuovo. Usuali bombardamenti su Shortlands.


    3) DEI

    Mi preparo all'assalto in grande stile a Timor. Le TF sono in navigazione. La KB avvistata a SUD di Babeldoab, a portata tattica.

    Sarà una battaglia terrificante. DD e un paio di BB colpiranno Dili e le TF in loco, mentre il grosso delle navi sbarcherà a Lautem e Wetar Island.

    Dipende dalla qualità di gioco di entrambi. Io ho giocato molto bene da giapponese e quindi Blizzard ha ereditato una situazione globalmente ottima, anche se con tante fragilità.

    In un match alla pari direi che per Giugno '44 l'Alleato ha pochissimo da temere. Senza HR sul numero max di aerei imbarcati per hex, già da un anno l'Alleato può avanzare senza timore, posto faccia operazioni assennate.

    Per intenderci: io ho magari 3-4 AirCombat TF e devo fare in modo che entrino in combattimento tutte e, allo stesso tempo, che siano grossomodo indipendenti in fatto di CAP e di striking power. Non è facile.
    Se posso tenerle nello stesso hex, tutto cambia: ho 2-3000 aerei imbarcati e avanzo col flottone per gli sbarchi più difficili tipo quello di Lautem. Chiaro che, appunto, serve accortezza operazionale: se vuoi avanzare tanto col flottone, praticamente stai implorando di perdere ogni cosa.

    Io avanzo di pochi hex ad operazione ma mantengo un ritmo altissimo.

    E' più difficile. Molto più difficile.

    E' come si gioca bene.
