Un'altra giornata in cui la nostra flotta si è fatta onore.
Nella notte una TF condotta dall'incrociatore pesante Mogami con 6 caccia ha intercettato una TF nemica in allontanamento da Saipan. Le nostre navi hanno inpegnato in combattimento ravvicinato 2 CVL e quache caccia di scorta.
Ben 11 colpi diretti hanno colpito una CVL nemica mentre la seconda è stata colpita solo una volta protetta dai caccia nemici. Crediamo che la CVL americana sia spacciata a causa degli incendi a bordo mentre tutte le nostre navi sono rientrate in porto indenni!

Ma a Iwo-Jima si è combattuta un'altra disperata battaglia di difesa da parte delle nostre portaerei.
Le CV americane si sono spinte fino a 120 miglia dall'isola ed hanno lanciato un paio di attacchi contro le nostre navi che si sono ben difese anche grazie a tutti gli zero disponibili. Nessuna bomba ha colpito le nostre navi mentre le perdite aeree nemiche sono doppie delle nostre, ma dobbiamo registrare altri 26 Zero persi. Sulle nostre portaerei possiamo contare solo su 140 aerei operativi mentre abbiamo spostato da Guam 60 Zero di supporto per limitare i danni di un altro attacco aereo domani.
Quello che più mi preoccupa sono i nostri piloti: si valorosi ma pocho più che novellini. I migliori piloti sono stati uccisi nelle due battaglie delle Marianne e siamo costretti a contare su piloti con poche ore di volo che devono affrontare i temibili Hellcat americai.

Mi sembra che l'americano vada di randello, un tutti all'attacco senza considerare le perdite più tipico dell'armata rossa...

Certo che vedere gli odds così favorevoli ai giapponesi, sarei curioso di sapere il perchè delle perdite così sproporzionate, sinceramente non capisco, è realistica la cosa??

 

Anch'io speravo che i jap in difesa facessero meglio considerato il fatto che non c'è stato alcuno bombardamento preparatorio. Ad ogni modo questa strategia sta pagando visto che il divario in mezzi gli permette questo. La mia KB sta giocando al gatto e al topo per non finire in fondo al mare e Saipan resisterà pochi giorni.
Ancora una settimana e sarà solo un count-down dei turni aspettando il fischio finale.

 

27 Giugno 1944

Nella notte una TF nemica tenta la sortita a Iwo-Jima ma una TF da combattimento comandata dall'incrociatore pesante Suzuya si oppone e ne nascono due battaglie notturne.
L'obbiettivo di proteggere la nostra forza aeronavale è raggiunto ma il Suzuya e l'incrociatore leggero Oyodo vanno perduti. Gli americani perdono il CA Boston mentre altre navi risultano gravemente danneggiate.

Durante tutto il giorno la flotta USA rimane nei pressi di Iwo Jima ma fortunatamente la nostra flotta non viene attaccata.

28 Giugno 1944

La nostra aviazione si sta coprendo di gloria a Iwo-Jima.
Oggi gli aerei imbarcati americani provano ancora ad attaccare le nostre portaerei che stazionano presso Iwo-Jima ma tutti i caccia disponibili danno battaglia ed a fine giornata si contano 20 dei nostri caccia persi contro ben 80 aerei nemici abbattuti.
Ho dato ordine ad altri zero di base a Guam di spostarsi sull'isola: domani potremo contare sulla carta di ben 230 zero, in pratica il 90% di tutti quelli disponibili sotto il mio comando. Purtroppo un siluro ha colpito la Hiyo che ha abbandonato la formazione ed è all'ancora vicino alla costa. Però tutte le navi sono state rifornite di munizioni e tutti i pezzi AA sono al massimo della loro capacità, siamo pronti a ricevere di nuovo gli americani!

Nella notte la Musashi, non più al sicuro nella baia di Saipan (stranamente non attaccata dagli americani), è salpata a macchine avanti tutta ed ha raggiunto Guam dove spero sia al sicuro per qualche altro giorno.

Saipan oggi ha resistito bene ad un nuovo assalto dei marines, finalmente anche loro mostrano qualche segno di stanchezza!

Grazie per il tuo giudizio ma sto cominciando ad essere a corto di idee e materia prima per contrastare gli americani e siamo solo a metà scenario...temo un tracollo a breve.
Ad ogni modo ci sta che le perdite americane a metà 44 nei combattimenti terrestri siano così esigue come furono nella realtà se confrontate con quelle giapponesi visti i mezzi e la tecnologia di cui disponevano: basterebbe che dopo ogni battaglia laloro fatica aumentasse drasticamente per costringerli al riposo così gli assedi durerebbero il doppio se non il triplo e la cosa tornerebbe nella norma a mio avviso.

Staremo a vedere come finisce.

 

L'americano sta attaccando come un toro che vede una giumenta. I numeri sono dalla sua parte ma lo stai smontando. Almeno negli scontri aerei fai paura... Un rateo di 4 a 1 non so se riesce a tenerlo per troppo tempo e alla fine dovra' pur andarsene, almeno per rimpolparsi di aerei.
Il problema vedo che ce l'hai a terra, ma contro i carri puoi poco.

Se si infuria magari fa mosse stupide e tu potresti approfittarne.

 

Mi sono perso la battaglia della Musashi! Chi le ha fatto quello? Sacrilegio!

- come si comporta l'A6M2 Sen Baku (inoltre non ricordo il suo carico di bombe...60kg? 250kg?)?
- come si comportano gli incrociatori leggeri classe Oyodo e Agano?
- hai problemi col Service Rating dei D4Y1 (mi pare sia SR = 3)?
- ti accorgi della differenza tra A6M5 e A6M2?

Lo scenario è troppo breve per farsi un'idea precisa comunque ti rispondo per quello che ho visto in questi 40 turni giocati:

- come si comporta l'A6M2 Sen Baku (inoltre non ricordo il suo carico di bombe...60kg? 250kg?)? --> 50kg, ma vista la penuria di caccia li ho sempre usati in CAP ed hanno fatto il loro dovere

- come si comportano gli incrociatori leggeri classe Oyodo e Agano? --> troppi pochi scontri per darti un giudizio comunque tutta la flotta imperiale ha retto bene in generale il confronto diretto con gli americani in tutti gli scontri notturni. Diurni non ricordo ve ne siano stati

- hai problemi col Service Rating dei D4Y1 (mi pare sia SR = 3)? --> questo modello mi ha deluso parecchio: pochi gli aerei che decollano forse per il motivo che dici tu e pochissime le bombe andate a segno anche con piloti di esperienza 60.

- ti accorgi della differenza tra A6M5 e A6M2? --> A6M2 tutta la vita, la versione A6M5 soffre molto di più sia in missiome CAP che escort.

 

Ilmio avversario sta giocando come io non giocherei mai, vediamo chi avrà ragione. Temo che non avrò più molti mezzi per provare altre grosse sorprese, ci proverò ad ogni modo per cercare di vincere anche di un solo punto.

 

Riguardo il decollo di pochi D4Y1 rispetto al numero totale potresti dare una controllatina alla skill
inspiration del comandante, so che influenza il morale della squadriglia, ma se non ricordo male ha
anche un impatto sul numero di velivoli che si alzano in volo (ho tentato di recuperare il link su cui
avevo letto queste cose ma ovviamente non lo trovo più).

 

Quindi Sun Tsu potrebbe avere ragione: "I numeri, da soli, non bastano per vincere".
Ma storicamente gli americani attaccavano alla garibaldina: tutti alla carica e basta? Non mi pare proprio: sembra che la tattica del tuo avversario sia quella di spingerti in un angolo, chiudere gli occhi e mulinare le braccia, senza nemmeno guardare se hai un pugnale nascosto... Mah...

 

28 Giugno 1944

La flotta USA sta tentando il tutto per tutto per distruggere la nostra flotta a iwo Jima.
Le CV nemiche sembrano essersi dileguate ma questa notte l'intera flotta da battaglia abericana si è presentata davanti alle coste dell'isola ingaggiando la KB.
Ne sono nate due grandi battaglie e le nostre navi hanno fatto da schermo alle CV ma qualche colpo è arrivato sulle nostre preziose portaerei.
La Junyo, la Kongo e l'Atago sono le navi che hanno subito più danni mentre il resto della flotta si è salvato. La prova di forza degli americani però non è stata indolore perchè sembra che abbiano perso due incrociatori pesanti.

La mia idea di tenere in serbo i Betty per il momento più propizio ha funzionato: visto che la flotta aeronavale americana era a Iwo-Jima, ho ordinato ai nostri bombardieri navali di concentrarsi a Truk per intercettare le navi nemiche che si allontanano da Saipan. Molti aerei non sono riusciti a decollare a causa del maltempo ma gli unici tre che sono decollati hanno incrociato una portaerei leggera che navigava senza scorta e hanno messo a segno tutti e tre i siluri: per la nave americana non c'è stato scampo!

A Saipan è stata un'altra giornata di dura battaglia. Un nostro sottomarino tascabile ha affondato un trasporto avversario mentre i cannoni costrieti hanno danneggiato in modo serio altre navi nemiche anche se sembra che gli americani abbiano infinite navi: più gliene danneggiamo e più ne mandano!
Da registrare invece la perdita di un sottomarino tascabile che non ha avuto fortuna ed è stato intercettato dai caccia nemici.

Ho controllato e in media l'inspiration si aggira su 70, quindi direi buona. Ma oramai mi rimangono pochissimi Judy operativi, alcuni sono a Guam e non colpiscono le navi nemiche neanche senza CAP avversaria. Penso a questo punto che la differenza la facciano i piloti visto che hanno exp media che si aggira tra 50 e 60.

 

Ho fatto una proiezione: ci dividono al momento 2000 punti vittoria. Appena cade Saipan credo che il divario scenderà a 1000. Gli basta affondare qualche CV e la Musashi (appena la sua flotta rifornirà sarà uno scenario molto reale) e penso che abbia vinto :-(

 

Ma puoi giocare solo in difesa, in questo scenario?

 

L'unica puntata offensiva che ho provato (per altro inutile) ho perso la Nagato e reso inutilizzabile la Musashi.
Non dico che non si possa fare ma è molto rischioso.

Ho notato che la flak americana è terribile, passano pochissimi aerei e con scarsi risultati quando arrivano a tiro: quindi anche ora tentassi di inseguire le navi da battaglia americane con le CV ed i loro pochi aerei superstiti sarebbe un fiasco IMHO.
Non ultimo, il fuel: ne hai pochissimo nelle Marshall e Truk (dove ne hai in abbondanza) è troppo esposta. Ogni movimento della KB deve essere ben ponderato per non rischiare di trovarti a secco vicino al nemico.

 

In che senso? Tu come avresti giocato al suo posto?

 

tra un po' lo vedremo, non hai detto che poi farete lo scenario a parti invertite?
